Journey To The Western Isles
About: Join Bruce Smith and members of the New Brunswick Nature Trust on a journey of a lifetime through the West Isles Archipelago. Abundant in sea life, you will have the chance to see seals, porpoise, Finback Whales, Minke Whales, Eagles and much much more.
Members of the New Brunswick Nature Trust will discuss the efforts of NBNT in preserving ecologically sensitive natural areas in our province and the significance of the Western Isles Nature Preserve both ecologically and historically.
Sea Kayak with Bulkhead front (Bow) and back (Stern)
Transport Canada Approved PFD (For Canadian Participants), US Coastguard Approved for US Paddlers
Transport Canada Required Safety kit (50' Buoyant heaving line, Whistle, Bailing device and Light)
Change of clothes
Food and water with extra rations
All items you would normally take for an outdoor adventure
The group will depart the Northern End of Campobello, make its way up Head Harbour Passage and into the Island of the West Isles Archipelago. Heading Northward you will pass many Islands, ledges and Rocks teaming with Marine Wildlife, flora and fauna.
